In Collected Outlines (2002) I asked friends and strangers to draw the outline of the United States from memory, on-the-spot without preparation. The results varied. I was not really interested in "testing" the participants' geography knowledge. I was interested in what shape each person carried in their memory as the general outline of this country. Participants included both native U.S. citizens and people from other countries.

In 2005, I created a hand-made book out of the Collected Outlines drawings. This book was made in an edition of 20.
