Deidre Hoguet
b. 1974 Syracuse, New York
Deidre Hoguet lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her projects often take
place in public spaces and seek audience participation to complete the pieces.
In 2004, in collaboration with Tadej Pogacar and Peter Walsh, she created
“Lampadedromia – Puerto Rico 2004,” a performance project produced for M&M
Proyectos as part of “PR 04 – Tribute
to the Messenger,” which took place in San Juan and Rincon. In September
2003, she created another site-specific performance project on the streets
of Ljubljana, Slovenia in collaboration with Peter Walsh, about languages.
That project, entitled “Tongue:Jezik,” was supported by a grant
from the Ministry of Culture of Slovenia. In 2006, she completed an MLS in Information
Studies at Queens College, CUNY, New York. She received a BFA in Painting from Savannah
College of Art and Design in 1997.
